The Cherry Blossoms in D.C. were a gift from Japan I think several decades ago.
The "escort service" Cherry Blossom probably refers to the mail-order bride service often used by eccentric, right-wing, white males. Either they never had a date, or they went through a very bitter divorce, and have no other options of finding a date.
