As long as there are depressed, eccentric Sailer-type white males around, child abuse, whether sexual or non-sexual, will be sure to follow. Even outside of the United States, child sex abuse still lurks. Here are some child sex abuse cases in Great Britain.


1) Couple jailed for webcam sex act

Ronald Edwards, 54, and his 44-year-old wife Denise were sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday.

Discs and videos with images of children being abused were found by police at the couple's Cinderford home.

They had also encouraged a paedophile in New York to abuse the girl, as they watched online.

Judge Martin Picton said: "What the two of you did was quite appalling.

The two of you took substantial pleasure in watching a nine-year-old girl being horribly abused and wanting it to continue.

2) Face of child sex monster

A PHOTOGRAPH of a wanted paedophile has finally been released by police five months after he went on the run.

Stephen Burnell, 54, disappeared halfway through his trial at York Crown Court in February of this year where he faced various charges of sexual offences against a young girl over a four year period.

These included attempted rape, indecent assault and the taking of pornographic photographs.

The crimes took place after he befriended the nine-year-old girl's family. He was found guilty by a jury in his absence and a month later, when police still had not caught him, Judge John Ashurst sentenced him to six years in jail.

But despite being unable to find Burnell, who used to live in the South Bank area of York, North Yorkshire Police refused to release his picture in the face of repeated requests from The Press.
