Democrats gain House seat in Congress

In one of New York's most conservative Congressional districts, Democrat Kathy Hochul won tonight's special election for the House seat vacated by ex-Congressman Chris Lee. If you recall, Chris Lee was the GOP Representative who got caught in an embarrasing scandal, soliciting other women on Craigslist with a picture of him topless.

Just two months ago, Kathy Hochul seemed to be a sure loser in this GOP stronghold. But the Republicans' insanity and unpopularity sank in, such as Representative Paul D. Ryan (R-Wisconsin) drastic and failed idea to overhaul Medicare, as well as their incompetence and unpopularity in the four short months since regaining the House.
